hello 2009!
This is what i just wrote on the pages of my diary.

2009

I resolve not to have any resolutions this year, cuz I never stick to them anyway, and they usually end up as benchmarks for my annual failures.

This year, like last year, I shall remain spontaneous and mad.

And I'll continue to appreciated the little things in life.

Cuz it was so great doing that in 2008

Happy new year!

OK fine there's really one thing I want in 2009

To be less lazy/procrastinationg. (sigh this one again)
I think that's my most major flaw in 08
And that's the one tt's gg to screw up my a level results URGH!

I will push myself this year.
I will seek God/inspiration everyday. Either or, or both.

To find a purpose in life

To live it large.
To live it high.

OK fine here are my guidelines anyways. GUIDELINES, nothing more.
1)lose weight (sigh yet a repeatition AGAIN)
2)Make lots of moolah
3)catch up/hang out a lot more with all my friends
4)redo my room by this weekend haha
5)get a dslr with lens
6)um driving lisence?!
7)make more moolah
8)to give YOU some tender loving care. HAHA

ok that's it i want to see if i can see fireworks from my house.

I'm avoiding the crazed crowd this year.

Meme
HEHE ripped this from Shirley's blog. Too pretty to resist.

Huh I just realised I wrote the exact same thing as her.  I swear they are original words and I copiedth not.

The Rules:
1. Answer each of the questions below using the Flickr search engine.
2. Choose a photo from the first three pages.
3. Copy the URL of your favorite photo into this site: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php
4. Then share with the world.

1. First name: Stephenie. Haha all the stephenie meyer/twilight stuff came out la. shit
2. Favorite food: chocolate. but macarons came out too and so i grabbed them
3. Hometown: yishun. pretty right!! I jog pass this block all the time
4. Favorite colour: purple.
5. Celebrity crush: jason mraz!! same as shirleys, but i picked a different picture. HE IS SO CUTE RIGHT!
6. Favorite drink: water also same as shirley's. haha. I HAVE to have water whenever I go out. If i'm out the whole day I'll carry a 1.5l bottle. haha
7. Dream vacation: Japan
8. Favorite dessert: Ice cream. the pic shows penguins wanting ice cream haha.
9. What I want to be when I grow up: a dusty old bookshop. HAHA ok no i typed in 'myself' and it came out and i thought that was really nice. warm, welcoming, full of knowledge, and a little kooky.
10. What I love most in the world: God. I picked the one with the sky (ie representing God and creation duh) and the people looking like they're having a good time tgt. Looks like it could be a cover of a hillsong album hurhur.
11. One word that describes me: i put in dream and what do you know, out came major peace/love/hippie stuff. Fab.
12. My LiveJournal name Blogspot la. Asher is a happy word.

Speaking of the last pic, this is what the owner of the photo wrote:

"So I was browsing through the emotive protraits section of deviantart.com earlier today, and I was shocked and horrfied at the amount of kids posting pictures wherein they had cut themselves.
So as an attempt at a deterrent, I have gone over all of my scars in a biro.

I am fifteen days away from being sixteen years of age, and what do I have to show for my life?
One hundred and six self inflicted scars that will be with me for the rest of my life.
Plus three words carved into my flesh, Asher and Key at the top of my left arm, and Happy on my left thigh.
At the time I thought I was cool, part of the 'emo scene', now I realise what a fool I was.
These scars will never fade, they are permanent. On my wedding day I will not be able to wear the style of dress I want because of them.
I have absolutely no confidence in my body, because it is so flawed by these scars,
scars I gave myself to try and be cool.

It is not cool.  "

Wth those are some seriously deep scars la. I have cut myself before (don't tell you where, but definitely not on my arms what kind of attention seeking sob do you think I am?), and actually I have to admit the pain was a good relief, at least a temporal one, at that point of shittiness. Where there was a lack of pain, a rather alarming amount of blood made up for it. That was where I cut somewhere that was quite dangerous but was a bit too stupid to realise at tt point of time.

But those were damn shitty, isolated moments la. I'm not proud of it. I should be stronger than this. And I certainly DO NOT cut myself to show off my scars like some pathetic emo kids try to. "Oh look at me, this are my scars, I am so filled with all the anguish of the world, I don't smile and I am emo and brooding and can't put on eyeliner propertly. Watch me mourn over my inner angst." Fuck off, posers. If you want to cut, cut discreetly, so that only you and you yourself will know your inner moment of turmoil (and it better be like really, really low points in your life and not some exaggerated delusions), and that you keep your scars as a reminder of how you have since overcome it and survived and are happy now. To show your pain by cutting one's self in such obviously reavealing body parts esp arms??!! is equivilent to standing in the middle of orchard road and yelling, "LOOK EVERYBODY, I ANGST AND I AM A LOSER WHO CAN'T CONTROL MY EMOTIONS AND HENCE HAVE TO SEEK ATTENTION IN A SO-CALLED SUBTLE WAY!"

Phew end of emo rant. I've never really said this before but have always believed it. Cutting should not, i repeat, SHOULD NOT be done excessively, certainly not on a regular basis, otherwise, go get some psychiatric treatment la. And it shouldn't be used as some manipulative tool to blatantly show the whole world one's moment of weakness

Running.
How awesome is running. Let me count the ways...

1) It keep you fit. Duh. And it is one of the fastest and efficient way to lose weight.

2)The feel of running long dist by quite roads and trees grass big open sky is really calming

3)It feels free, as if I'm running away from everything.

4)It helps me shit better. HAHA. ok too much info. Ok but to get to the techniacal side of it, running does improve blood circulation and muscle movement, and hence, bowel movement too. HAHA

5) It helps me sleep better. Beats alcohol, cuz Baileys=calories while running= fitness

6) Sweating clears your pores from inside out.

7)Ok this doesn't happen all the time, but there are times when pushing myself and feeling the pain is really shiok.

Run people run.

A song dedication
Chinn Yee this is for you. hahaha.

It's a bit drama for him la but great camera angle. Sexy arms. Sexy face. Sexy voice. hahhha

Here are the lyrics!

There's a picture on my kitchen wall
Looks like Jesus and his friends involved
There's a party getting started in the yard
There's a couple getting steamy in the car parked in the drive
Was I too young to see this with my eyes?

By the pool last night, apparently
The chemicals weren't mixed properly
You hit your head and then forgot your name
And then you woke up at the bottom by the drain
And now your altitude and memory's a shame

What about taking this empty cup and filling it up
With a little bit more of innocence
I haven't had enough, it's probably because when you're young
It's okay to be easily ignored
I like to believe it was all about love for a child

And when the house was left in shambles
Who was there to handle all the broken bits of glass
Was it mom who put my dad out on his ass or the other way around
Well I'm far too old to care about that now

What about taking this empty cup and filling it up
With a little bit more of innocence
I haven't had enough, it's probably because when you're young
It's okay to be easily ignored
I'd like to believe it was all about love for a child

It's kinda nice to work the floor since the divorce
I've been enjoying both my Christmases and my birthday cakes
And taking drugs and making love at far too young an age
And they never check to see my grades
What a fool I'd be to start complaining now

What about taking this empty cup and filling it up
With a little bit more of innocence
I haven't had enough, it's probably because when you're young
It's okay to be easily ignored
I'd love to believe it's all about love for a child

It was all about love...

Chinn Yee I hope everything's alright in Penang!

And this is for me. Because he's simply so gorgeous, and his lyrics are one of the most meaningful and uplifting things I've ever heard.

Here we are.

Here we are.

Here we are...

We're still here.

[after 5 minutes]
Oh what the hell I might as well put this up too.

Cleaning
Woah. I actually spent like 3hours today cleaning the pigsty ie wangguan's house. His floor is so dirty, when i walk around in it, my feet turn black. Mercy. I only helped out cuz i can't bear the thought to anyone living in such conditions. It's like when you see a hobo on the street... you need to help the hobo. It's too pathetic otherwise.

And I actually quite like kapo-ing other ppl's stuff and rearranging things. So I'm pathologically an oraganising freak. Organised, but messy. Now that's cosy.

The funniest thing is that when i swept under his sofa bed, I found a remote, and set it aside thinking tt it was the TV remote. Then when i was in his room, he came in and said, 'Ay I give your five dollars if you can fine my remote.' JOKE.

I spent the money i earned for my maid service today on Royce chocolate for my family. I'm such a filial daughter.

HAHAH I can't believe I'm complaining about bangla pay then taking up some maid job HAHA shit I'm sinking low man.

I'm gg to ask my mum to pay me for cleaning up the house from now on cuz I realise doing housework is TIRING and it really burns a lot of calories. Look what I found haha.

Vacuuming – 75 – 125 calories. Give yourself a real workout. Tackle all those corners and specs of dirt.

Cooking - 40 – 50 calories

Cleaning gutters – 340 calories

Mopping floors - 112 calories. Besides burning calories, you can tone your shoulders and biceps.

I swear cleaning Wang's house is like cleaning gutters la. Hahah. And I always wonder why my mum is so lean. Now we know.

I think I momentarily became some sort of cleaning freak. When I got back, I looked around my house and thought, 'Eee. Better clean.'

And I found some rather disgusting.

You know those hives that looks like a small pot?? I found one, and so I broke it. No lavae inside (that's what's in the hive btw), but look what i found. It's gross.

It's a bunch of shriveled up dead spiders and random insects. YUCK. DISGUSTING. ok, not half as bad as a cockroach but STILL. EEEEE ok I think all of you just want to puke now. Now you know what's inside those shit.

YUCKYUCKYUCK ok i can't believe I'm posting such a gross photo. HAHA

Michelle, says:

Steph says:
HAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHAH

Steph says:
but i like

Steph says:
shut up bitch

Steph says:
who ask you to throw away such a nice skin

ok besides mich changes blogskin like she changes eye candy so that hardly counts. I DON'T CARE, i like this, i'm sticking with this, it's not an original anyway, i'm pretty sure thousands are using this.

ONE DAY I SHALL MAKE ONE LA HUH. ONE DAY.

Oh oh oh and i need to announce this bigbig

I ACTUALLY LIKE TWILIGHT THE MOVIE!

Amazing amazing right. The whole indie/artsy/shaky camera style DID work for me. I liked the angles, the close ups (robert pattison DOES looks quite harsh at some point and can't really act), like the scenes in the kitchen, the part where she turns and the wind blows her scent etc. And and and! the characters were really well formed, I would say, esp Bella's high school friends whom i found annoying in the book. They were quite funny in the movie. And the Cullen family! who were like background ghosts in the book but I felt the key traits of their character stood out, except for Jasper "he looks like he's in pain"??! I esp liked Rosalie whom I hated in the book.

WOAH ok end of mad girl fan rant. I'd give twilight 7/10 stars, I liked Catherine Hardwickes job WHY DID THEY SACK HER WHY??!! esp when jacob black stars so prominently in the second movie NOOOOOOOOO i don't want that dude who made a train wreck out of Golden Compass directing the movie jacob black stars in!!!!

Ok official end of mad fan girl rant. Btw I think Edward Cullen is not as cute as Jacob Black and Bella made the wrong choice whoops! spoilers. Plus he can't act.

Hhaahha ok stephchoy enough. I felt so old after watching this movie cuz when everyone streamed out after the credits there were like HORDES of little tweeny girls. OMG. Like. Pre-pubescent girls like AIYO i can't take it. And they were like eeeeing and eeeewing during the kissing scence and calling Eward a pervert. I hope all the other movies get slapped with an nc16 rating HAHHAHA.

I have a theory that the reason why this franchise is doing so well not because of the fantastically fleshed out/realistic plot/characters but due to the subconsciously, everyone (esp females haha) wants to believe in that perfect guy and of two people destined to be together and the concept that there can be love regardless of the circumstance ie forbidden love. I think just about everyone has such subconscious ideas la, and this whole franchise really appeals to that.

Alrighty! No more movies till the good ones come out ie next week. Die la no money.

Cell was pretty good today.

1)it's nice to meet them after like 1 year hahha

2)for some reason i tend to like it when cell's at the chan's

3)there's this section of the floor that's rough and really REALLY good for eh, what do you call it? smoothening the rough edges of the heel. HAHA so gross right. but it's pretty effective. HAHA

4)everyone loves steph's cookies!!! =) again no photo everyone ate everything hahaha

5)no long preachy stuff today phew.

6)i found it really funny when chan said this was the year of sabbath but everyone end up resting so much that they weren't really so active spiritually. HOW TRUE, for me, at least. Well, looks like i really WAS living out the year of the sabbath. Interestingly I feel myself sliding back to normalcy now, so maybe there's a sign. =) Felt better i'm not the only one with such issues

7) got the hear some stuff about the ups and downs of e cell ppl. Quite interesting, i must say. we're all human after all.

8)hahah BONDING BONDING. what would i do w/o you guys. I have to say one thing good about this whole incident with me is that, it really was the catalyst that made us bond. hahahah. so maybe God made me ahem! so that i'll share it with you guys and everything else would come out, and maybe that's why it's so easy for me now HAHAHHAHA. ok just a theory.

I think we made a lot of careless accidents today. eehhehe long time no see become so careless eeks.

Ok today is a good day, tomorrow brings a new one and cash as i sell of more cookies MWUAHAHHA.

Baked temptations, korean hype and movies
Ok due to Haiting's request I've changed my blogskin.

Oh! and i decided not to take the bangla pay job in favour for relief teaching. I may just apply northview sec against mrs.chan's warning for kicks haha. Wah I really hope teachers get absent and the schools call ME not other ppl on the waiting list.

For once it's a sunny day and my date decided to cancel a trip to sentosa-.- SUUEEAY, can.

My cookie sales are going fine. i'd ning for photo of my baked temptations but brother ate it all up all up. One whole container. In one day. But I guess that's a testimony of my baked temptations HAHAH.

Meet up with Serena and Rajes for half priced gelare waffles and spent the whole day (or two hours) was spent talking about KOREAN STUFF. The only balls I caught were those on We Got Married, which i KINDA follow, jumping episodes, of course. I think everyone's favourite couple is HyunJoong and HwangBo aka the lettuce couple, including me, and of course MARCO
or the hilariously clumsy 2% fellow. HAHA. This series makes me laugh haha although I have to admit the whole culture difference is a fresh change from the promiscuous western media culture.

But the lettuce couple left. T.T

The freakest thing is that Rajes, my INDIAN friend, is the one who introduced me to anything korean, and watches so much korean so often that she CAN FIGURE OUT KOREAN W/O SUBTITLES. FREAKAY! I guess some ppl are just linguistically inclined and some ie yours truey, just aren't. (I still have trouble with those k celebs names k haha)

.

"Aiya she's probably just the Hamster la, look the tuff t

T KOREt's pretty obvious, with a pretty
biased mind HAHA.

Anyway the movie ansn't THAT fantastic la. I'd give it like a llish. Its quite humorous at some points, esp when the hamster and pigeons appears. A bit waste of money I think but then again there aren't many fantastic shows this year, compared to last year and esp the year before. Random, genius stand alone movies like The Prestige what ever happened to stuff like that?!?

Anyways movie la, look out for:

Twilight-tomorrow!

I'll go in with zero expectations. HAHA. Ok you know the best way to enjoy the film is to succumb to the those perfect guy fantasy and just ignore all of robert pattison's lack of acting skills and whatnots and just scream like an idiotic fan girl at every gesture he makes. HAHA. Stupid, i know, but quite fun. Which is why i'm watching it with a twilight fan who won't mind my temporal lack of judgement HAHA.

Australia- out on Chirstmas day

Hugh Jackman in a Baz Luhrmann (the guy who directed moulin rouge!) film. Enough said.

The Spirit- also on Chirstmas

Nyehehehe the makers of 300 and sin city brings you the spirit nyhehehe.

The Curious case of Benjamin Button-next year

I'd watch anything with brad pitt in it haha.

I've gotten WR addicted to Robin Hobb. Haha. She's like, the fourth or fifth person I've influenced. I should get commission or something. And I just found out there's a graphic novel coming up! In french -.- nvm translation translation is always easier than drawing from scratch. =D

Still unemployed
Ok I lied I've already been accepted for the camp facilitator job but THEY LIE .

The pay is crap and there are like 083749276 hours of unpaid overtime.

Irregardless, it is a relatively fun job.

BUT THE PAY IS CRAP

So crappy, that my dad told me not to bother working for a bangla's pay.

And and and i need, ok no, i WANT the money cuz there are a trillion things i want to save up for

1) a potential trip to Japan
2) cannon DSLR
3) food food food! i can spend hundreds on food alone
4)my pre-ordered ipod T.T

ok all these alone is going to be like several thousand. Not to mention that in less than a month's time i'd be paying ADULT FAIR NOOOOOO STUDENT CONSESSION crycrycry

life after a levels sucks hahaha

i'm seriously contemplating getting a boring data admin job. bangla pay, intellectual insult? bangla pay, intellectual insult?...

Ok things i've been doing this weekish

slacking on my ass and indulging in massive video whoring sessions. urgh.

going to JB, eating till i gain weight, acquiring diarrhea and losing it all, and more.

sleeping like 12 hours a day.

i'm such a slob, guilty as charged

i ALMOST miss those mad a level periods where i was running on pure adrenaline and felt high 90% of the time, where i actually felt motivated and the moment fine hours stolen watching videos were RELISHED not just...endless stretches of boredom. where ever breathe of fresh air NOT studying (ie a lot) was so inviting and tantilising cuz it felt so free...

SEE HAITING I TOLD YOU I'D GET EMO ON MY BLOG HAHA

anyways, congrats to chinn and flo hahaha long dist woowoo! (yes i know this is late) all the best =)

and whoever says that twilight is the next harry potter should just go die, seriously. harry potter is LEGENDARY and original, twilight, is unfortunately, to quote someone's comment on youtube, "the highschool musical of vampire fiction".

irregardeless i will watch it and await the 2nd movie cuz it features Jacob Black =)

but the series sucks as a whole haha

Bushes, christmas and rain

At the Strip salon. You know. The one that gives Brazillian waxes. Hmmhmm!

I was laughing my head of when I saw this. Talk about a pun man.

Anyway I got two 25% vouchers and I may just herald the new year with it. HAHA.

Ok break down of week 2 of my stupendous holiday. (only week two! yay!)

I followed my mum to ncc on sunday (booooring) and fetched my aunt frm the airport. She got me thorntons' fudge from England.YUMYUMYUM. My aunt's hilarious. I used to hate her loudness and persistent talking but now it's just funny. Haha. Like a lot of other ppl on my mum's side.

Btw Tosto's at Changi T3 has pretty good sandwiches. Crisp, flavourful bread. Quite rare huh.

Monday was...eh... spent reading Breaking Dawn, the last Twilight book I think. And rotting at home.

Tuesday was my interview WHICH I GOT THROUGH I'M EMPLOYED BABY! Then HSM3-ed with Grace. HAHA. Not bad la, actually. Zac Efron is hot, Vanessa Hudgens is not, although her voiced improved la. Pretty good props + dance. We kept betting on the plot.

"I bet you ten bucks they'll win the game!"
"I bet you ten bucks she'll come back for the musical! At the end!"

And we were right, of course.

It was quite funny when they were talking about prom being the night all girls waited for and I turned to Grace, saying, "Tonight, actually." Haha. And no I didn't go to prom but I'm watching all those pictures upload onto facebook so I can laugh and the cmi, failed ones, and auntie hair styles aiyo. HAHA

I like it how it's raining and everything seems a lot colder then usual. And the quite moments where my camera lens frosts over so that all the pictures I take have this faded, nostalgia effect.

Walking along orchard road with the (lousy) lights hanging in the trees and the gloomy sky... NOW it really feels like Christmas.

Those premature Chirstmas decorations are no longer taunting me anymore. HEE.

Goodies from ShaoWen:

Sisters Mary Catherine, Maria Theresa, Katherine
Marie, Rose Frances, & Mary Kathleen left the
Convent on a trip to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New
York City and were sight-seeing on a Tuesday in
                        July.

It was hot and humid in town and their traditional
garb was making them so uncomfortable, they decided
to stop in at Patty McGuire's Pub for a cold soft
                        drink.

Patty had recently added special legs to his
barstools, which were the talk of the fashionable
eastside neighborhood. All 5 Nuns sat up at the bar
and were enjoying their Cokes when Monsignor Riley
and Father McGinty entered the bar through the
                        front door.

They, too, came for a cold drink when they were
shocked and almost fainted at what they saw.

Of 1 day
Spent watching gossip girls and project runway

"VELCOME TO PROJECT RUNWAY."

"DESIGNERS. You have. 5 minutes to complete your designs and send your models to the Tressemme makeup and hairsaloon."

"Fierce fabulous flawless. All of the above"

"This is party, this is business, and this is moonay maker"

Such a fantastically long recovery time
Makes me wonder if I'm thawing
Maybe I'll forever be heartless HAHA.

And so begins the start of yet another blog.

With a promise not to be emo

Asher is the one of Jacob's sons in the Bible.

His gift was cooking

And his names means happy in Hebrew

And his was the name I wanted to adopt in Sec3

When I was getting baptised

But SOMEBODY didn't allowed me

With the reason that is DIDN'T SOUND NICE

But names like 5 people Chirstine

Anyways Asher is a happy word.

And happiness is a choice.
